Greg Burgess

The Gregory Burgess Archive & Exhibitions — University of Melbourne

Display of architectural models and sculptures on a wooden wall in a gallery or studio, with a doorway letting in natural light.

Gregory Burgess is one of Australia's most significant architects — a RAIA Gold Medal recipient whose practice hasshaped the country's built culture for over five decades. erbauer™ worked alongside Burgess to help establish, construct, and populate his physical archive: a lifetime of models, drawings, and project documentation, now housed in a dedicated facility and visited regularly by architectural students and scholars.

From that foundation, erbauer™ created two exhibitions of his work. The first, From the Coalface, was presented atthe Noel Shaw Gallery in the Baillieu Library at the University of Melbourne. The second, Seeking Resonance: The Life-Architecture of Gregory Burgess, was a major retrospective of his life's work, shown at the Dulux Gallery within the Melbourne School of Design. Both exhibitions are documented on the University of Melbourne's website and have been widely recognised within the Australian architectural community.
